Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

1. Who we are

Jamphony (jamphony.com) is an online service where people play music together. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. For any question about your data, write to contact@jamphony.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us:

  • Account details, such as your email address, password, username, display name and the color you choose.
  • Your friends and friend requests.
  • Messages you send in rooms, and anything you send to us.

Information collected as you use the service:

  • What you do in a room, such as the room you are in, your seat and sound, the notes you play and your cursor position. Other people in the room see this as it happens.
  • Ratings other players give you, which make up your reputation.
  • Technical information, such as your IP address and browser, which we use to run and protect the service.

Information kept on your device:

  • Settings such as volume, your MIDI device and what you have muted are saved in your browser and stay on your device.

3. How we use it

  • to create and secure your account and let you sign in;
  • to run rooms, seats, chat, friends and moderation;
  • to enforce our Terms of Service and protect the service from abuse, spam and attacks;
  • to send you service emails, such as account or security messages and important changes, and to reply when you write to us.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. How we share it

  • With other users. People in your room see your display name, your seat, your sound, your cursor and your messages, and your reputation is visible to everyone in a room. Your username and display name may show to friends and in room lists.
  • With service providers that host the service, store data and send email for us. They handle your data under their own privacy policies.
  • With authorities where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account information, friends and ratings are kept for as long as your account exists. Ratings expire after a short time.
  • We do not keep a history of room messages. They are gone when the room closes.
  • Technical information such as IP addresses is used to protect the service and is not kept in our database.
  • To have your account deleted, write to contact@jamphony.com.

6. Your choices and rights

You can change your display name, username and color in the app, and you can turn off cursor sharing in settings. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your account and data by writing to contact@jamphony.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain uses of your data, or to complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Cookies and similar storage

We use your browser’s local storage to remember your settings, and a cookie to keep you signed in. These are needed for the service to work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear them in your browser settings, though that may sign you out or reset your preferences.

8. Security

We maintain safeguards designed to protect your personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, including encryption of data in transit and restricted access to our systems. No method of storage or transmission is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Jamphony is not intended for people under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us at contact@jamphony.com and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make an important change, we will notify you through a notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continued use of Jamphony after a change means you accept the updated policy.
