Free online music sequencer: make songs with friends in your browser

Jamphony has a free music sequencer called Studio, where you write songs note by note, alone or with friends editing the same song at the same time.

Start playing

Simple on purpose

Studio isn't a full production program, and it doesn't try to be. You get a piano roll, a rack of instruments, and effects to shape each track's sound, so you can start writing straight away.

Making a song

  • Give every track its own piano, string, brass, woodwind, percussion or drum sound.
  • Draw notes with the mouse or a finger, then copy, paste and quantize them.
  • Set how hard each note plays, and draw fades and swells with volume automation.
  • Shape each track with its own EQ, reverb, compression, delay and saturation, and set its volume and pan.
  • Set the tempo and time signature, and play to a metronome.
  • Watch your song as a piano roll, as notes falling onto a keyboard, or on a 3D stage, in Studio and on its own page.
  • Shortcuts FL Studio users will know, and touch controls on tablets and phones.

Edit together

Open your song in a room and everyone sees each change as it happens. Others can join to listen and chat, you can let them edit for the session, and you can add permanent collaborators.

MIDI in and out

Play notes in from a MIDI keyboard or the computer keyboard. Import a MIDI file to start from, and export your song as MIDI to open in any music software, or as a .jam file that opens back up in Studio exactly as you left it.

Turn your song into sheet music

Download any song as sheet music, saved or not, and open it in MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale or Dorico to print or edit it. It comes as a MusicXML file, with the key, rhythms and parts worked out from your notes. Recorded notes get cleaned up too: loose timing is tightened, rolled chords and grace notes are written as they should be, and each instrument lands in its proper clef and range. You can download an audio file the same way, without publishing the song first.

Share your songs

Publish a song and it gets its own page, where anyone can play it as a piano roll, falling notes or on the 3D stage, give it a heart, comment on it and download it as MIDI, audio or sheet music. Anyone with an account can copy a published song and make it their own.

Jam live

  • Join a room and play piano, strings, brass or woodwinds live with other people.
  • Each player picks their own instrument, and everyone plays together on a 3D stage.
  • Save the last few minutes of a jam as a MIDI file and turn it into a song.
